The PRISM NSA Scandal, No Privacy Over the Internet

This time there is no conspiracy theory, the NSA Scandal is as good as it gets folks. Now it’s official, the NSA is listening to all the traffic on the internet, telephone, mobile communications, you name it. NSA is US’s National Security Agency, kind of like the modern Big Brother from 1984. And PRISM is the name of the game, I mean, the covert op is named PRISM, stay tuned.

According to leaked documents(it was actually a top secret  power point presentation, a briefing for NSA’s staff)  which proved to be very real when checked for authenticity, NSA is wired in all major high tech companies servers, among them, well, check this out: Google (of course, it was NSA’s creation from the beginning), Facebook, Microsoft, Yahoo, YouTube, Skype (well, it was bought by Microsoft, cough) and last but not least Apple.

In Apple’s defense, they were the last to drop the soap, sort of speak. By that, I mean they were resisting the longest to governmental pressures to “open up”. Microsoft was the first company who answered to Big Brother’s request, back in 2007, Apple stood its ground until October of 2012 and finally caved in.

Well, you might ask, what the hell is this crazy dude ranting about?  If you’re not into alternative media and stuff like that, you probably never heard about the recent scandal, where Verizon was caught delivering to NSA the phone records of tens of millions of US citizens.

Now, things are getting more interesting, as this new investigation reveals that NSA and FBI (you know, agent Mulder and Scully and aliens) are directly connected to the mainframes of the most important tech companies in the US. Companies we used to like and love and use their services, remember the last article about Yahoo and privacy? Things are more far out than that.

According to leaked documents in the NSA Scandal, NSA mines data from Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Facebook, PalTalk, AOL, Skype, YouTube, and Apple in a covert program named PRISM. It all began in 2007 supposedly (conspiracy theorists are ranting about NSA spying all calls and internet traffic since the 90′s actually) and it was the main information source for George Bush and Barrack Obama, as they were served intelligence briefings on daily basis.

The nice thing about the NSA Scandal is that companies were asked about the PRISM (this is the covert name of the sniffing activities) program and all of them denied knowledge of its existence. The coolest thing about the NSA Scandal and PRISM is that companies were promised by the US Government to have immunity from any possible lawsuits, courtesy of US Attorney General who signed a directive regarding this matter, also the director of national intelligence.

So, all the companies aforementioned are in plausible denial, they had no idea about what was happening in the last (at least) 6 years or so. Yeah, right, and I have a bridge to sell you.

The NSA Scandal- FACT

To quote from the leaked documents:

“Collection directly from the servers of these U.S. Service Providers: Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Facebook, PalTalk, AOL, Skype, YouTube, Apple.“98 percent of PRISM production is based on Yahoo, Google and Microsoft; we need to make sure we don’t harm these sources,”

is written in the NSA Scandal briefing, that leaked in the press, thanks to Washington Post’s and Guardian UK’s investigations.
